Here is a pictorial diary of the destruction of the greatest football stand in the world. I hope those repsonsible burn in hell. From the 15th May 2001 to 4th August 2002

I approached Villa Park today along Trinity Road, from the Perry Barr end. Imagine my surprise when I reached Bevington Road. The Trinity Road Stand wasn't there.

It had been completely demolished.

On parking I realised there was the tinniest bit left. The bit that was added on in 94 on the left hand side.

000605_2:

What had been the mosaic side was now just a hump of twisted iron and rubble.

000605_5:

I only hope that the mosaic was saved in full

I've tried, throughout this to take photographs from the same spot, but not knowing where the next piece of destruction was going to be it's been difficult to know exactly where to point the camera. However this shot was taken from approximately the same area as one on the first day and was a beautiful picture of the Stand. Now it's now possible to see completely the North Stand and the stand on Witton Lane.

Inside the ground the devastation is complete. I took quite a few photographs but this is probably the most chilling

I was speaking to someone yesterday; a bit of an armchair supporter of another team admittedly, and he couldn't believe that the frontage was gone. He was visibly shocked that something so well known and beautiful could be sacrificed for 4,000 seats and £15M.
